<<I'm pretty sure everyone has a little different idea of preservation, but
there are at least 3 significant farmhouses on the field that are now
(mostly) gone: Bliss, Timbers and McPherson. What is the NPS (or others)
view on rebuilding these houses and outbuildings?>>
As Jim said earlier, the NPS position is not to rebuild those places already
gone. I would think that is a financial decision, since the cost would be
quite steep. However, one consideration would be a public-private
partnership similar to what was done with the new VC.
Corporate sponsorship for recreating these buildings might be the way to go.
I imagine companies would be more than happy to have their names associated
with the Gettysburg Battlefield. Recognition for their support could given
on a plaque or marker at the site of the reconstructed buildings.
