GDG- Study: Gettysburg draws 2.9 million visitors each year

  Well I was at Gettysburg about a dozen times last year and no one asked me either, and I do visit the VC almost every time,  
   
  The NPS did not do the survey, it was done my a school.  I am sure they have a system in place that estimates the percentage of people the do go to the VC.  Remember the survey was taken at different locations and that they used things like hotel registers to get the figures.
   
  BTW if you ever go to Boylds Bear center you will find that it is about 90% female shoppers.  So that is not sexist, Gee give it a break!  Lots of people go for lots of different reasons, I wonder if they polled the bikers during bike week or if they will be polling at the new bike show this month.

Hmmm....no one ever asked ME to fill out a survey, & I was there twice last 
year. And I'm interested to know how the Park Service comes up with their 
estimate, considering that you don't HAVE to go to the Visitors' Center to get 
to the field - and there's no way to count the people who DO go to the 
Visitors' Center, anyway. I'm guessing THEIR number ought to be a lot higher. 

(And I resent a bit the article's implication that the reason women go to 
Gettysburg is Boyd's Bear Country or the outlet mall - how sexist is that!!!)
