I asked this question once before in relation to this particular topic, and I'm still wondering what type of a teacher was Lee? He must have been aware that this was almost a shakedown cruise for the new, improved ANV. I know that everyone had worked very well together so far. Was he aware that he would have to keep a closer eye on his new commanders? did he chalk off Ewell's reticence to the learning curve? After G Burg, did he attempt to correct the mistakes that are so obvious after the fact?
