Has anyone seen this, or any reviews:
2. Glatthaar, Joseph. GENERAL LEE'S ARMY: FROM VICTORY TO COLLAPSE.
NY, 2008. 600 pp.; M, Absolutely recommended!!!, 1st
ed; dj; maps; illus; photo; Based on a statistical analysis of army
personnel & on an unprecedented number of soldier letters, this book
ranks with Freeman's Lee's Lieutenants & Alexanders Fighting for the
Confederacy as an indispensible source on the ANV....$35.00
600 pages for $35 - I'm concerned its just a bunch of tables & such.
I've seen it in the bookstore and spent several minutes looking through it.
I certainly wouldn't characterize it as being just a bunch of tables and
such. The book was mostly in narrative form. If I was anything of a student of
the ANV, I would have bought it (and if it were an equivalent book about the
AOP, I certainly would have bought it).
