GDG- Alternate Gettysburg

Steve Sanders has an article in Issue 14 of Gettysburg Magazine on the death of Reynolds that quotes from a number of accounts that cite Reynolds being killed by a sharpshooter, but none of these accounts provide proof that is what actually happened. Sanders concludes that, in the absence of evidence, it could have been friendly or enemy fire that killed the general.

I remember hearing a talk or reading an article in the last year or so that evaluated claims by a number of Confederate soldiers who took credit for firing the fatal shot. If it was a talk, it may have been given by Troy Harman.

Ed, you're correct, THE MOVIE contained a shot of a "sniper" sighting on and shooting Reynolds, although it wasn't necessarily a "sniper". The woods (Herbst) were already infiltrated with advancing Tennesseeans and Alabamians He would have made an easy target for any soldier.

Wasn't that also portrayed in The Movie?
