GDG- Alternate Gettysburg

How did the History Channel come to this conclusion? Was it a soldier who
came forward who said he did it? Why couldn't it have been just a stray
bullet, considering the bullets that were being fired during the battle?
But I guess, like the History Channel, has done on several occasions,
played fast and loose with the facts to make the subject more exciting,
like it needed it. : - )

Keith,

My first thought was no way, wrong corps. Reynolds was the wing commander
over the I, III, and XI corps and I'm guessing that if Reynolds had taken
command of the army, someone from one of those corps would have been under
that tree. Or probably not under that tree.

Sure changes things in a hurry and why "what-ifs" are fun, but futile.

By the way, History Channel said it was a sniper who killed Reynolds. I
forget how far away it was - 700 yards, 900 yards, possibly sitting in a
tree in Chambersburg... I can't remember. But I was happy to have that
mystery solved! ;)
