GDG- The real R.E.Lee

  Happened to watch part of the "Movie" the other day and was taken by the rather philosophical/spiritual mind set that Lee is depicted as having. It's like he would never tell an off colored joke at a stag party. Is this a fair representation of his personality or something else? 
  What would he be like to sit around a card table or chew the fat with? He just seems too sainty to me. What was he really like?
