I recall my first visit time I visited my daughter when she was a
freshman at GWU. We took a short walk from her dorm and ended up in
front of the White House she said"I wondered where that was at. She did,
however , know ever knock and cranny of Georgetown.

Good news: My 18 year old daughter has 3 friends (that I know of) who
are majoring in History at college, so there are at least 3 more who
will hopefully carry the banner...

Bad news: One of them attends Gettysburg College, and one would normally

think that was /great/ news. However, as of the winter break /she had
never toured the battlefield!/ She told me she was interested in
European history - Where's my Catch-22 "What the hell is wrong with good

ol' U-S-of-A history?"

I was thunderstruck (to say the least). She did promise me that she
would do so before she got back for the summer. Haven't seen her yet to
check up on her! :-)
