GDG- Disgusted

Hi All,

I posted over on another board..

As one who admires GKW greatly, and then those who gave that last full
measure.. I find this almost nauseating.
But, I also find myself with this deep sense of resignation. It never fails
when I visit LRT and pay my respects there is ALWAYS one jerk who manages to
ignore the sign or cant read and climbs up on the rock next to the Statue.
I don't know of the NPS gave sanction to this. If they did, some one should
lose their job. That's just ridiculous.

I also posted on the other board, I am going to be in town July 3 through
the 6th. I think its time to kick some butt. So I told them, my wife Bev,
may be contacting my friends to see if they would be willing to post my
bail. That's how mad I am.

Thanks for listening,
JIM LAMASON

Esteemed GDG Member Contributes:

Hello, from the sunny Pacific Northwest:

This takes the cake for lack of fitness and respect. Someone
actually did this? I think this act almost supercedes the time I saw
someone eating lunch from McDonald's at the clump of trees on the
wheatfield. Threw everything on the sacred ground and waddled away,
inquiring loudly "Ain't this place got no john?" I advised him
sweetly that the Penn Monument had a lovely "john" but you had to
look carefully since it's not obviously placed. Hope he's still
looking. My son picked up all of the stuff, even the dropped fries
and placed it in the trash barrel, then turned to me and said the guy
would probably find a corner for his "john.".

Right on, Steve, and don't lighten up. This deserves all the disgust
and condemnation we can summon.

Best from
BeeJay
