GDG- Two articles and a saxaphone (!)

There is a music festival in town which runs from June 19 to June 29. There are a number of re-enactments in the area around the anniversary dates, with the largest slated for July 4-6. Then Bike Week runs from July 10-13.
What's up with all these commercial endeavors so close to these three days, deemed by most of us here as worthy of solemn contemplation of the heroism and great slaughter that took place here as part of our nation's epic battle for freedom?
It's called makin' the rent.

Finally, whats with this JAZZ FESTIVAL on the
heals of the 145th?! I am sure there has been
chatter here about it but I have missed it.

BUT it was hard to miss an ad in todays
WASHINGTON POST with a photo of the Maj. Gen. G.
Warren statue on Little Round Top with a
SAXAPHONE slung over his back. What a travesty!
Shame on the promoters of the event - any time -
but especially on the eve of the 145th of the
great battle. Thoughts?

Cheers,
