GDG- VC: How much time to allocate? Plus bookstores?

Alan, the new museum is almost overwhelming in terms of its content and presentation. In terms of time, you should allow 2-3 hours, but you probably won't get to study all the exhibits in detail. There may be areas where you could skim somewhat, and then come back another time for more examination. There are separate areas for each day of the battle, with a video presentation. In terms of other bookstores, the Farnsworth house store has a good collection.
Have fun!

Subject: GDG- VC: How much time to allocate? Plus bookstores?

Esteemed GDG Member Contributes:

Seeing as a number of people have by now had the chance to see the new
VC, about how much time should one reasonably allocate to checking it
out? I'm trying to jam some time in the schedule for this, and would
like to get a feel for how much.

On a slightly different track, I've heard that the VC's "book" store
isn't quite as good as the old one. What other places in Gettysburg
offer good selections on detailed Gettysburg-related books?

Thanks again,
Alan
