Mike,

I found this information in a book on Salisbury Prison. According to the
footnote, after the war, "the U.S. Government complied a list of 3504 Union
soldiers who died at the Salisbury Prison. This list was in the 1868
publication entitled 'Name of Soldiers who, in Defense of the American
Union, Suffered Martyrdom in the Prison Pens Throughout the South'
(Washington: Government Printing Office, 1868)." It almost has to been the
same person. One of the historians at Andersonville posts to another group
to which I belong. I'll ask him if he has a record of a Sgt. H. W. Green,
Co. E, 146th N.Y. who died in January 1865.

Regards,
Teej
