Mike,

This is the email I sent.

Hello Brian,

I saw your name and email at Cindi's Genealogy List on the interent, and
that you have an interest in the 146th New York. I collect identified Civil
War artifacts and recently purchased a stencil ID'd to Henry W. Green,
Company E of the 146th. I know he died at Andersonville in January 1865, but
I have conflicting information as to his capture. One reference is May,
1863, and the other May, 1864. I'm guessing the 1864 date is probably more
likely because the unit was very heavily engaged at The Wilderness with a
large number of men captured.

Eventually I'll have it sorted out when I get his National Archives
paperwork, but in the mean time might you have any additional information on
him? Also would you know if he is pictured in any of the regimental
histories?

Thank you for any assistance you may be able to offer, and if you would to
see a photo of the stencil let me know.

Kind Regards,

John Gross
