GDG- 14th VT 1st Corps unit w/2nd Corps

Caldwell's division of the 2nd Corps had been sent to the left to support 
the 3rd Corps, leaving a considerable gap in the infantry line.  When the 
fighting progress up toward that part of the line later in the afternoon, 
Stannard's brigade was sent in to help fill the gap.  Since Caldwell's 
division was roughly handled in the fighting around the Wheatfield, it never 
did return to its original position, so Stannard remained on the ridge to 
help hold that part of the line.
