Business and personal commitment's kept me away
from Gettysburg during the late June and early
July re-enactments and other commemorations of
the 145th Anniversary of the Battle there.

I do not recall seeing much in this forum about
those commemorations. Any observations or
comments?

What did/do these events mean in terms of what we
may see in five years for 150th Anniversary of
the Battle of Gettysburg?

Curious, especially in that July 1963 at
Gettysburg is what really ignited my interest -
and passion - in the study of the battle and the
Civil War - and military history - in general.
Seeing one Park Ranger at an evening program on
the battle dressed as a Federal infantryman and
doing a firing demonstration is as clear in my
mind today as if it just happened.
