GDG- Re-enactors question

Do they tend to do that? that seems to me to make an expensive hobby a little more, well, expensive. But I digress. Like I said, the 67 NY is right around the corner, and I'm sure they would have been more than happy to attend.
Sigh.

I guess I'll just wait and make new friends this weekend.
