" Marched from within 4 miles of Chambersburg to within 2 miles of Gettysburg but before we reached there we heard severe cannonding and the enemy were driven about 1 mile and half by Pender and Heath's Divs aobut 4 pm Anderson Div arrived but did not fight.'
