The Cyclorama is big, detailed (lots and lots of horses!) and old but....unless they really, really jazz up what you get for your money. I think $12 puts a short visit to the Cyclorama in tourist trap territory.
One of the really great things about Gettysburg is that you can, with not too much work, avoid commercialism altogether and spend an entire day seeing lots of historic and hallowed ground for little or no cost. This is why I love Gettysburg. You can still imagine the events and hear the guns. This is why I have only gone to see the Cyclorama once and never went back. This is why I drive right past the wax museum and the old trains and the teddy bears in uniforms. This is why I would drive right past a $12 Cyclorama exhibit, even if every single one of those painted horses were newly restored to lifelike lustre. $6, maybe once. $12, I'm outta there.
