I would just say that could also read "has proposed as the spot..."  There
are a million reasons to propose why she's wrong, why it's impossible that's
the spot (ignoring about 99% of the participant evidence to name one).

There's good reason that the 1st Vermont Cavalry veterans placed their
monument, and its wording that Farnsworth fell near there, in Slyder's
field - 'cause that's where it happened.  It's also where nearly all the
Confederates said it did, as well.
