GDG- We shouldn't allow loss of Electric Map

You're right, Jack. I have heard statements from NPS people that they will have to "crane" the map out of the old VC after removing the roof. As far as I have heard, the map will not be destroyed as the Evening Sun letter writer asserts. The park has made attempts to sell or donate the map to some organizations, but those efforts have not been successful.
We shall indeed miss the electric map, but one hopes that the new VC will contain exhibits that will convey the same knowledge of the battlefield and the surrounding area to the visitor.

There will be something like the map, but the map is not moving. It is part
of the building (there are literaly hundreds of miles under the map) and you
would have to cut out a quarter or more of the floor to move it. Then how do
you move it.

Besides, it was always better as a place to nap in the afternoon.
