GDG- Foot notes and History

Hi folks,

I have sat back on this thread and followed it with interest.

First to Fields of Honor. I have a first edition hard back of the book and
in the forward it is noted that the book is transcribed from recordings made
by Mr. Bearss.

Since that is the case, I would like to share this thought with all of you.

Many of us, in our own individual efforts to help educate and share what we
have learned have misquoted or misstated facts as we share them. I know that
to be true because I have done it. When question on my thought, and I go
back and read the source from where I got that info, I frequently say to
myself DUH!! And acknowledge my mistake.

While Mr. Bearss is a wonderful story teller and also truly the most
knowledgeable and enjoyable speakers and tour leaders that we still have
today, he is HUMAN. And as a result does make mistakes. And I am sure he
would be the first to admit that.

Lets keep that in mind..

With kindest regards.

I think the reason Fields of Honor does not have footnotes is that it is a
compilation of tape recordings of tours he's given over the years. I read a

library copy when it first came out so I don't remember the specifics (or
look it up) but I think it stated in the foreward or intro that the actual
tapes are now in a library collection (name escapes me but Bearss was in the

title) so if you wanted to double check a chapter you could find the tapes
and listen til you found it.
