and the role of artillery. I used Buford to teach about high ground,
Chamberlain about protecting flanks and the day 3 charge on the problems
of frontal attacks against fortified positions protected by artillery.>>

These are all great things to cover with kids - very visual things they can understand.  They can get the idea about protecting their flanks - and I make a lot of sports analogies - most kids get those - and the ones who don't, get the visual.
