Fellow GDG members,
I have been working for the last month at the Tennessee State Museum
completing research for their Civil War flags book. This project has ben on hold
for 5 years since the death of their former curator. I have been fortunate to
have been the person the museum has wanted to complete the project and it has
taken some time for this to happen.
Accordingly, I will be working for them through July of 2008. Along with
this I am still doing my own job with the company that I have owned for 23
years and, as such, will not have too much time to participate here.
I do have some requests - if any of you come across accounts of Tennessee
color bearers or the capture of Tennessee flags please let me know. I have the
Gettysburg stuff well in hand but am always seeking more things from other
battles. I would appreciate it as will the readers of the book.
The good part of this (actually, there are many good parts!), I get to play
with flags and saw the two GB captured TN flags (1st and 14th) just last week
when I was giving a tour of our flags storage unit to a flag book author.
So let jealousy reign (grin) - I can see them whenever I want to!!!
Thanks in advance,
Greg Biggs
