GDG- Gettysburg and Vicksburg

I've been assigned to write an encyclopedia article on the Vicksburg
campaign.  I'd like to know the opinion of people on this list of Duane
Schultz's MOST GLORIOUS FOURTH: VICKSBURG AND GETTYSBURG, July 4, 1863.
On Barnes and Nobles page on it, the reviews listed are widely
divergent.  Civil War Times Illustrated said it was like to be the "best
Civil War book of the year."  But Brooks Simpson ended his review with
the blunt comment "Not recommended."

This request is somewhat on topic since this book deals with both
Gettysburg and Vicksburg.  However, I'd also like to hear from anyone
about other recommendations on Vicksburg--please write to me off-list at
