Absolutely that is the case.  The index cannot hope to include every  
reference to every term you wish to research, yet for a CD version it is child's  
play to find every such reference.



Could you elaborate on what was going on in Brent Nosworthy's  situation, and
how the CD search capability aided him in his  work?




When Brent wanted to find every mention, say, of Sharps carbines, it would  
be a matter of seconds to start getting results -- and the easiest thing in the 
 world to quickly check every reference to see if it were worth pursuing (and 
 copying),  Brent did this (or asked me to do this) for numerous terms  
relating to weapons and field fortifications.
