Dennis,
My top ten Gettysburg favorites are pretty much about the civilians and
aftermath of the battle:
Greg Coco¹s - ³ A Strange and Blighted Land²
Greg Coco¹s - ³A Vast Sea of Misery²
Barbara Platt - ³This is Holy Ground² - A History of the Gettysburg
Battlefield²
Tim Smith & Garry Adelman - ³Devil¹s Den²
Michael A. Dreese - ³The Hospital on Seminary Ridge at the Battle of
Gettysburg²
Sarah Broadhead - ³The Diary of a Lady of Gettysburg²
Roland Maust - ³Grappling with Death The Union Second Corps Hospital at
Gettysburg²
Fred Hawthorne - ³Gettysburg: Stories of Men and Monuments²
Gerald Bennet - ³Days of Uncertainty and Dread² - (the book that really got
me to look more closely at the civilians¹ experience)
William Frassanito - ³Early Photography at Gettysburg²
And, by the way, just recently I decided it was time (again) to catalogue
our Gettysburg books and put them on an Excel program. We have 180.
