I have around 75 Gettysburg books which I guess isn't bad, since I do not consider myself an exclusive Gettysburg-ite .. I am interested in all theaters and battles and the politics and the personalities, on and on, in other words the whole ACW .. Gettysburg is a key part to me, but not all-inclusive .. once during my graduate studies, my school did a survey asking how many ACW books I had .. I counted 700, and that was about 10 years ago, I certainly haven't slackened my collecting .. probably have well over 800 maybe 900 by now ... last weekend I was at Mill Springs battlefield in Kentucky, and they have built a nice museum out there .. one of their patrons willed his entire ACW collection to them, looks about the same size and content as mine, lots of Gettysburg books but lots of others too ..unlike my collection, however, this gentleman also had a very nice set of the OR, looked like a recently printed version .. they set up a reference library room in his name in the
museum, very impressive .. I think I will do that, too, have my collection go to someplace like that where it will be used ..

Since business has been kind of slow on the GDG these days, thought I would
throw this out for fun and games. Who has the most books about Gettysburg
on their shelves?
My count is 75 including hard and soft backs, non-fiction and fiction. This
includes booklets like the ones sold at the Farnsworth House, and those put
out by the Gettysburg Foundation. It also includes novels, but not
magazines or guide books.
Seventy-five sounds like a lot, but there will undoubtedly be a number of
people who have more.
