Your point is well taken.  There is a good map in Bradley Gottfried's "Roads
to Gettysburg" that shows the Confederate unit positions as they began to
move toward Culpeper on June 3.  Some of the geographic data mentioned in
Sharpe's report is not included, however, nor are all of the original
positions.  Something may turn up that shows those positions in better
geographic detail.  Otherwise it will take some time to pinpoint those
actual starting positions along the Rappahannock.  Generally speaking,
Sharpe's report appears to be accurate.
