Hi Clarence,
As I read this the boys of the 26th NC come to mind. They fought against the
24th Michigan who would have been down to the left (Facing Herr Ridge) of
the McPherson Farm complex. By that I mean the house, barn (still
standing),and other buildings (outhouses, or milking sheds.
I had not made the connection till now. Some to think about. I will need to
pull out Covered with Glory, the story of the 26 NC at Gettysburg..

Just wondering if anyone knows if during the Battle of Gettysburg an troops
from the
APPALACHIAN part of the STATE of North Carolina fought against the troops
from
MICHIGAN. A friend told me they fought near a BIG HOUSE. Just wondering :0
