Jim,

I believe Imhof brings up Wofford's troops a couple of times - if they
had followed Barksdale's path more closely, that could have made a large
difference. (Imagine Wofford's brigade aligned to the 21st MS - then
they may have blown through Bigelow & Watson quicker, and might have
been able to dislodge the Plum Run Artillery line before it got fully
set up.)

As it was they tended to align more with the flank of Kershaw as they
advanced towards the stony hill & Wheatfield. I don't recall offhand how
much Wofford's troops helped in the dislodgement of Brooke & such - I
seem to recall that they were more in the mop-up part of that phase.
