Thanks for the info on his memoirs Ginny - I didn't know about that.  I agree, the Civilians throughout the entire war are overlooked, but more and more is being done.  

I know someone who does a fantastic Tillie Pierce, as a woman looking back on her experiences.  I have been to Tillie's grave many times in Selinsgrove.
