I too have gone into the triangular field specifically to see if my camera
would fail. Digital or 35mm I've only ever had one issue. A few years ago my
wife shot a photo that had what appeared to be a lightning bolt extending up
from the ground. We had the negative re-processed and the second photo was
clean. We determined that the bolt in the first photo was a problem in the
processing.
We've been out and about on the field at night many times over the years.
The amount of people that can be found in the Triangular Field at night
always amazed me.

HI Folks,
The Federal Regiment that fought in the Triangular Field was
the 124NYVI. The Company "A" Captain, and later Colonel of the Regiment,
was Charles Weygant and after the war he wrote what many consider one
of the better Regimental Histories. Strangley, to me at least, his section
on
Gettysburg is only about 10 pages or so. Kathy Georg Harrison had an
excellent article on the fighting at the Triangular Field in one of the
first
"Gettysburg Magizine" issues.
I have heard the stories of photographic equipment malfunctioning
at the Triangular Field site. I personally have taken photos there on 4 or 5
occasions resulting with about 40 photos altogether. I have never had a
problem at all.
Take Care,
John Leo
