A member of the 9th VA traveling with Stuart wrote that those captured at
Rockville included both contrabands and free blacks.  Blv it was at
Mercersburg, PA where a local resident was threatened by Rebels (?Mosby's
men?) when told that some of the blacks they had captured were born and
raised in the vicinity and were not former slaves.
