I have been at the Artillery Ridge Campground and it seemed ok. Its a large camp ground and I would assume they have a place for Scout Camping so you are out of the way of the veteran campers.
As for Antieteam, the C & O Canal national Historic Park has camping grounds at Antietam Aqueduct which are very close by. It is approximately 5 miles from the Visitor Ceneter. I stayed there many times as a Boy Scout. It has running water in the normal camp season. It doesn't have showers though. If you contact the C & O Visitor Ceneter in Williamsport, or Park HQ in Hagerstown they can give you a full run down. The area is very historic.
Depending on when you camped perhaps a volunteer could visit for some sort of program. I volunteer at C & O and if available would love to relate the Canal to the Civil War if oyu do it next spring or summer.Durango
