My wife likes the Round top camp ground. We will be staying there in a few days.

  Esteemed GDG Member Contributes:

I'm planning to take 10-15 middle school age kids on a camping trip in
June. It will include a stop at Gettysburg and I wanted to know if anyone
had any strong opinions on the two campgrounds closest to the battlefield,
Artillary Ridge and Round Top. I've looked at the web sites for both and
they seem similar. Artillary Ridge offers riding tours as well and I
wanted to get any opinions on these.
For the Antietam leg of the trip, I'm planning on using the former Girl
Scout camp now run by Sligo Seventh Day Adventist Church. There is a site
attached to the battlefield, but it looked very open (unshaded) and less
comfortable. If anyone has experience with the Antietam location, I would
  be interested in your opinions.

  Thanks.
