Might be tough procuring a guide of "good reputation". You'd have to narrow your selection to about 160 of them. I have never met, spoken to, or hired a bad one.

Esteemed GDG Member Contributes:

the other day, one of the bigger guy's I don't generally have much to do with, aproached me and tossed two books on my desk. "Dweeby say's you like this s---". "Thanks" I said, thinking better of several responses that jumped immediatly to mind. the books in question were two civil war related books "Ghost Armies of the Civil War", and Mark Nesbitt's, "Ghosts of Gettysburg". I didn't much pay attention to the first, as it is a collection of stories from some fantasy mag, but the second is a book I've heard much of, and never wondered about.
Last year, Frassanito told me that when Nesbitt had approached him about his idea for a ghosts book , Bill hadn't thought much of it. I gathered from further conversation that Nesbitt, besides founding a whole new industry in Gettysburg, also turned a nice profit. It reminded me af a story I'd heard once about L Ron Hubbard, riding the wave of his then successfull Lensmans Sci Fi series, had tried to bet some fellow Sci Fi writers at a convention that he could write a book and start his own religion. As my Attorney is want to say from time to time, "So, like, uhh...Who Knew?" Anyway, it looks like a quick and fun read and I thought I might try it on the kiddies around the fireplace at Brianna's next winter sleepover.

And speaking of winter stuff, I've been in contact with Chuck Teaque about a Stomp tour on the Harvest of Death location, and I have tentative plans to procure an LBG of good reputation to cover some day two action from the Union side, I was thinking of Brewster and Carr. the dates I see on the calendar that may be best are December 27-29. Mike Murphy can't get there before the 27, and It wouldn't be much of a stomp without him missing the tour, would it?

So I'll welcome any thoughts on the dates and contents of the "Stomp Activities", and perhaps a general head count on those interested in attending so I can alert the caterer.

THE WINTER STOMP IS NOT A SANCTIONED GDG EVENT. ALL WHO ATTEND DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK AND RESPONSIBILITY
