GDG- Camp Letterman and preservation

Jim,
You are right, actually they have done it already in another spot of the 
Letterman site.  When the Giant supermarket was built, the GBPA held title 
to a small plot.  Today there is a small plaza with two waysides and three 
benches in the far corner of the Giant parking lot.  This is the unfortunate 
meeting place for these tours that Tom Ryan mentioned last night.  The Field 
Hospital marker was placed along the Lincoln Highway sometime around 
1909-1910, I believe.  Ir is my opinion that they think if they can move it 
"out of sight, oit of mind" people will "forget" what was lost here.  Not 
likely, huh?
