Hi John,
I can remember reading about in Cattons books, This Hallowed ground for one,
or Terrible Swift Sword, or Mr. Lincolns Army, and finding where the story
began and where it ended and bypassing that part of the book or books.
It was just too difficult to read!
Jim

HI Folks,
Balls Bluff is little known outside of Northern, Virginia, in fact
Leesburg itself may be the only place where the name is generally
known.
But I consider the masacre at Balls Bluff to be one of the most
consequential battles of the entire Civil War --- This battle gave us
the Congressional Committee on the Conduct of the War
which terrorized every Federal decision throughout the war.
Just a thought,
John Leo
