Amen to that! The ticks are out here (Gettysburg)in abundance, ready to sink themselves into you. Bring whatever protection you have against them. They are, however, a small price to pay for being on this great battlefield with esteemed colleagues and expert tour guides. I had a tour with Ed Bearss last weekend (May 19-20) on Day 1 of the battle and the cavalry battles in the lower valley, and he is just terrific. He knows all the action down to the regimental level, and on the way back to the hotel he told us the story about the discovery and raising of the Cairo.
