GDG- Lee's cavalry at Gettysburg

Not a lot of thought behind this thought ('snew?), but I was wondering
how much of Lee's prior success had been against a foe that was much
less dynamic in response than Meade proved to be. Thinking off the top
of my head, Lee seemed to do well when he could hit a static opponent
with numbers (sometimes, of course, after hitting an active army and
causing them to set up a static situation), and collapse them in.
Leaving aside Day 1 (where Lee did manage to crumple relatively
non-supporting lines)...If Meade (and his subordinates) had /not/ been
so proactive on Day 2, one could easily envision Longstreet's troops
crumbling up the AoP from the south. Day 3 was another matter
altogether, I suppose.

If this is the case, perhaps the lack of good management of the
available calvary is less of a factor than Meade was...
