In my opinion, the first 10-12 volumes are good as they have reports, etc.  
that did not make the original OR set long ago - but it does includes stuff 
that  ran in Moore's "Rebellion Record" so if you have access to the 12 volumes 
of  that series you will be seeing some duplication in the OR Supplement.   
There is still a lot of stuff that I have stumbled across in my research over  
the years that should have been included but was not.  I am not sure at all  of 
the editorial aim of the OR supplement.
 
The rest of the volumes consist mostly of the stuff that can be found in  the 
various Compiled Service Records folders and microfilm at the National  
Archives.
 
If they publish the first 10-12 volumes as a stand alone set I would get  
them (I actually have one volume already from a used book store).  I have  read 
that Broadfoot is NOT going to do a CD-Rom of this series.
