Folks,

Being in the music business since 1971 (and I still am), a former music
journalist and once proud owner of a record collection of some 18,000 titles (and
a smashed Pete Townshend guitar!!!!), let me state that "Not Fade Away" was
a Buddy Holly song written around Bo Diddley rhythms. The boy from Lubbock
was trying to get his groove on.

The Rolling Stones redid it on one of their early albums (and a grand
version it was too - great harmonica breaks by Jagger). The Dead also covered it,
but not as well.

I like the "Stars and Bearss" title for the muster - and I wish I could
attend.

If the GDG would ever like to do a Western Theater muster please let me
know, especially if it centers on the war in Tennessee. I can handle the Cairo,
IL to Clarksville portion (the Belmont and Henry-Donelson campaigns) and get
the Nashville, Stones River, Franklin-Spring Hill and Tullahoma portions
covered easily by friends. It would be easy to do and center around staying in
Nashville for most of the tours.

I am also capable of doing the Atlanta Campaign from Dalton to Jonesboro.

I am doing a US Army Staff Ride at Donelson next week in fact.

Greg "Mr. Rock & Roll" Biggs
