GDG- Black Officers in The Civil War

In a conversation with a friend at work he questioned if there were any  
Black Generals. I could not answer him and felt compelled to look into this  
further. If anyone could suggest any reading material or furnish any information  
concerning Black Officers during The Civil War I would be completely Thankful.
