His brigade was in Pender's Division and I know what Lane, Perrin and Scales were doing. Does anyone know the answer?

From _Brigades of Gettysburg_ by Gottfrid, pg 656-657
"As the division [Pender's] advanced again in the afternoon to support
Heth's attack on McPherson Ridge, General A.P. Hill held Thomas's
Brigade back to support Pegram's artillery. [AAG] Major Joseph Engelhard
reported that the brigade was 'retained by ... Hill to meet a threatened
advance from the left.'"
and
"The brigade remained there until sunset, when Pender ordered it to take
position on the right of the division, where it again pulled support duty."
He notes that the brigade wasn't used much over the second and third
days either, sounds like more than 1,300 soldiers not used very well...
