Speaking of Colts ...  For the past several months, the Wadsworth  Atheneum 
(the oldest continuously operating public art museum in the US) in  Hartford, 
Connecticut, has been hosting a special exhibition about Samuel Colt  and his 
firearms.  I've been meaning to get over to see it and finally have  decided to 
do so later today (when I discovered that today is its final  day!).  At the 
start of the Civil War, Colt had wanted to raise a regiment  of Connecticut 
Volunteers armed with Colt Revolving Rifles, but political  squabbling sank the 
idea (IIRC, Sam wanted to be the regiment's colonel).
