Other than some cavalry raids and guerilla activities, not much took place  
there.  Crossville is on the Cumberland Plateau and the road network was  not 
conducive to heavy military activity by bigger armies although Bragg's army  
moved near there on the way to and from Kentucky in 1862.  Further east is  
Knoxville and of course there's Nashville where you are flying into - both have  
Civil War sites, especially the latter area.
