Bob,  I had not seen that and very much appreciate your posting of  it here.  
He is on target on most levels.
 
As a related aside - some do appreciate fine logisticians in war; CENTCOM's  
logistician for Desert Storm was Gen. Gus Pagonis and I read that when he  
retired he was hired by Sears to help run their corporation.  
 
In terms of CW logisticians and their understanding of what they entail in  
relation to army management, I rate the Top Three as follows:
 
1) Grant
2) Sherman (although I have been known to put him as No. 1 too because of  
the Atlanta Campaign)
3) Rosecrans
 
It then descends from there.
