GDG- 1 MN flanks

Maybe David Shultz can answer this one.  I see reference in BBTFL to advanced flank markers for the 1 MN.  After reading the book I tramped over the low ground west of the monument looking for these.  No luck.  I was mostly south of Willard's memorial, some north.  When I referenced your book again I noted that you seem to indicate the 1 MN was more northerly, maybe 100 yds north of the monument.  I will look again in the fall or winter when the grasses are lower.

 

What do these markers look like, how high do they stand?  One or two?  East or west of the Run?
