Would you consider the likelihood that a higher percentage of ANV wounded Died of Wounds. The reasoning is that it is widely accepted that many of the ANV wounded didn't receive medical care for between 24-72 hours after their wounding. With amputations of the extremities the mortality rate was 28% if a,mputation was performed within the first 24 hours. The mortality rate climbs to 51% if amputation was performed after 24 hours. Certainly all wounds suffered by ANV troops did not require amputation. Given the high mortality rates of penetrating head and neck, thoracic, abdominal wounds most of these casualties wouldn't have made it to hospital alive and woild have been classified as KIA. It seems as if the number of ANV DOWs would be in the 2,000 to 3,600 range. My guess is that it would have been more toward the upper end of that range, but barring investing a whole lot more time it'll have to remain a guess.

A year or two back I put some effort into better understanding the likely
Confederate casualty numbers at Gettysburg and concluded, somewhat shakily, that
there were probably something like 5000 KIA and DOW (the line between many
KIA and DOW is arbitrary at best, but maybe a 60/40 split comes close to being
accurate -- making maybe 3000 outright KIA and perhaps close to 13,000
wounded, of whom maybe 2000 subsequently died of wounds).
