Excuse my addressing you direct. I cant make out the Signature
of your AdjGenl Your dispatch just received. Col Dickerson left at 10 P.M.
direct to Taneytown. My Pickets extend to within sight of Mummastown There
is no Enemy on that road The Pickets of the Enemy are within four miles of
me on Cashtown road very strong I cant imagine what Cav Genl Howard refers
to None of mine have been out in such strong force - unless it came form the
reserve at Mechanicstown
